Neisseria gonorrhoeae -- the bacterium that causes gonorrhea can breed in the rectum as well as the throat. So, one should always be careful about rectal and throat infections. Immediate medical advice is must for all forms of rectal and throat infections. However, rectal infection from the bacterium may lead to just sore throat and no other infection.
